Below is one of my earliest Found Object Assemblages, "The Ballad of Ebon Bey."
It's the only one I've done that's lit and includes a mask I carved and a short story I wrote, based on a real life incident in which explorer/adventurer Ebon Bey was murdered while on a mission to find the missing explorer/missionary Dr. David Livingstone.
You may presume, at least, that I'm telling the truth here.
Bey's lover, far away in Paris, wanted desperately to be reunited with him, but never saw him again after he went to Africa and met his fate there.
The assemblage's container, which opens and closes, was originally a handled carrier for collectible dolls. The whole thing is now closed and lurking somewhere in one of my upstairs closets. I used it as a night light in the past, and will likely do so again.
